Ayurveda Polathu pella (traditional palm leaf hut)

Life is a combination of the body, the senses, the mind and the atma (spirit or the soul). They cannot be separated from each other, and none can be neglected. From this combination ensues "Ayus" - the span of life. Ayurveda - the science of life - is the knowledge of this association and of how to maintain it as long as possible. Ayurveda is a long lasting solution to mental and physical fitness. It is a way of life and it's all about well-being.
An especially quiet area situated at the side of Villa Hibiscus has very recently been arranged as an Ayurveda Polathu pella (traditional palm leaf hut) where we have installed a professional Ayurveda massage table. The table, which has been built strictly according to Ayurveda rules using exclusively "Kohomba" wood (Neem tree wood), is in its 100% natural raw state (no treatments such as varnish, glues, paints etc). Additionally we have also installed an Ayurveda steam bath made from the same Kohomba wood.
The Ayurveda holistic teachings focus on harmonising and  balancing of body, spirit and soul. You will feel this in your own body, you will feel the wellness, the relaxation and the inner peace - no matter which of the treatments you are receiving.
Special mixtures of Ayurveda oils and natural herbal ingredients such as Sharshapadi, Mee and Pinda oils will be used for lengthy and relaxing massages. For facials we use 100% pure Aloe Vera picked fresh from our own herb garden.
If you wish, you can book at short notice Full Body Massages, Neck/Shoulder Massages, head massages and also individual skin problems or back aches can be treated with special massages. Our in house ayurveda expert is available for all this. He leads this section on his own and at his own expense, at very reasonable prices. Weligama

Weligama is situated in the southern corner of Sri Lanka, about 15 miles (24Km) from the historic town of Galle. Just half an hour's drive from Galle, taking in spectacular beach views and along majestic coconut groves, brings you to the breathtakingly beautiful Weligama Bay with its centre piece – Taprobane Island. Here a French Count built his dream house in the 1800's. (The Island is now owned by a Sri Lankan Barrister residing in the UK.)

Excursions

Villa Hibiscus is located at the southern edge of Sri Lanka some 144Km (89.5 Miles) from Colombo between Galle and Weligama.

Private tours to Yala National Park where there are elephant, leopards, crocodiles and abundant bird life, can be arranged from the Villa, or a 2+ day excursion to the Hill Country, taking in the elephant orphanage, the tea and rubber plantations and temples of Kandy and Nuwara Eliya. Tea and chocolate cake at Ella Gap is not to be missed and on a clear day you can see right down to the coast.

Galle is the nearest town for shopping 24Km (15 miles) from the Villa with the somewhat smaller Weligama nearby.

Further excursions to Ratnapura with its gem mines, or locally to the see the beautiful old Fort in Galle, famous temples in Matara or the blow hole at Dondara. If the sea is rough, the snake farm or the turtle conservation farm, can be arranged.

Or just a walk around Weligama can be charming and interesting.

Anything is possible ... if you haven't relaxed too much!
